June 28: Acts of Resistance: 2SLGBTQ+ Self-Defence Workshop (In-Person, UTSC)
Acts of Resistance is a program for 2SLGBTQ+ community members to heighten their sense of self-trust and awareness of their environment. Join us in-person on June 28 at UTSC’s Catalyst Centre from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET. You can expect a combination of sit-down discussion, games and physical self-defence practice. This workshop offers participants an opportunity to discuss personal safety issues and to practice easy to learn, easy to remember self-defense techniques.
This class is designed to be physically accessible, and to meet you and your body where you are, as you are. Your instructor will take care to provide modifications to help make this class work best for you.
Please bring:
- Comfortable workout clothes
- Flat, closed-toe shoes (or be prepared to be in bare feet)
- A water bottle
We ask that you try to arrive to class at least 5 minutes early so that we can start on time. We can’t wait to meet you and experience the power that you carry in this world.
