Feb. 10: Art of Self-Regard: Card-Making Workshop at UTM

“The transformation of silence into language and action is an act of self-revelation.”
-Audre Lorde

Join us for this free, 2-hour facilitated session at UTM. Participants will engage in therapeutic, mixed media card-marking and writing designed to us connect more deeply with ourselves. In this intimate session, participants will explore the meditative art of watercolour painting while crafting nature-centered, personalized cards (1-3), each one a reflection of self-compassion.

Within the cards, participants will write letters addressed to themselves engaging with a simple but profound question posed by writer and activist, Audre Lorde: “What do you need to say?” The card-making process is an act of speaking to oneself in a tender and loving voice, saying what needs to be heard to evoke and deepen self-love. These cards will serve as personal treasures, bringing support and comfort to their makers. Artful integration of augmented reality technology will be used as part of the facilitation process.
