    The SVPS Centre is pleased to share our 2022 Orientation Coordinator Toolkit, a resource that can be used to train Orientation Coordinators and can be circulated both digitally and as a printed handbook for in-person use.

  • June 22: Extreme Intoxication and Sexual Assault: Breaking Down the SCC Sullivan, Chan and Brown Decision

    When the Supreme Court of Canada ruled in May that accused persons can raise self-induced extreme intoxication as a defense to certain crimes, including sexual assault, some concern was raised and misinformation shared.  This panel will be an opportunity to learn from legal experts what is true and false in the context of the court’s holding and explore what must be done to urgently address sexual violence in Canada meaningfully.

  • Skills for Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Violence: Free, Virtual Training

    The Centre has confirmed standing training dates for the 2022-2023 school year. Register for one of the sessions below to take part in an interactive and practice-based workshop on how to supportively respond to a disclosure of sexual violence. This workshop touches on the link between systemic oppression and sexual violence, which can impact and create barriers for those impacted by sexual violence.

  • SVPSC Operational Update

    We remain open and available to provide support to members of the UofT community. We are back on campus and gradually increasing our on-campus activities. We are currently providing our services remotely via phone and video conferencing, and in-person appointment requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. At this time all educational initiatives are also being held virtually.

    The SVPSC is partnering with the Anti-Racism & Cultural Diversity Office to host two virtual, curated spaces of restoration and art for faculty, staff and students at the University of Toronto who identify as members of Asian community. No art experience is necessary, just come as you are.

  • May 11: Racialized and Sexualized Trauma with Tenniel Brown

    Join this virtual session on May 11, which is open to any members of the UofT community who identify as Black. During this informative and engaging emotional liberation circle, participants will experience healing and community. The facilitator will support participants to reflect on the impact of racialized and sexualized trauma and changes they have made to cope.
