Healing Hearts Survivor Group

Healing Hearts is a support group for people of all genders who have had an experience of sexual violence or harassment. These gatherings offer a space to connect with your body’s wisdom, cultivate deeper awareness, and engage in healing practices through embodied movement.

In addition to this general survivors group, we also offer support groups for Asian survivors, Muslim survivors, and survivors who identify as having have current or former experience in sex work (Red Umbrella Healing Hearts). Please note that this will be a sex work affirmative and positive space, and is open to individuals with lived and living experiences of sex work who have survived sexual violence in their work and/or personal lives.

See below for the relevant dates, times, and registration details.

You can come to one or all of the sessions below – we look forward to welcoming you and learning together!

Please note that Healing Hearts is a closed group for those who have experienced sexual violence or harassment. Registration is required.

What to do if you have experienced sexual violence

Sexual violence can impact you in ways that are hard to anticipate and plan for. It is broad and includes a range of behaviours, such as sexual assault, stalking, indecent exposure, voyeurism, sexual exploitation, and others.

Disclosing or Reporting an incident

U of T’s Policy on Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment distinguishes between a disclosure and a report of sexual violence or harassment. Disclosing or reporting are separate decisions that result in different levels of response or action by the University.
